Nokia has been trying hard to play catch-up in the smartphone race for a long time now.

Analysts who have tested the device said that it was “without doubt” the best smartphone camera on the market. The Lumia 1020 can save both types at the same time, meaning that the owner does not need to worry about switching settings.

The new Lumia‘s 41-megapixel count far exceeds those of the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, at 8 and 16MP respectively.

It also adds optical image stabilisation by mounting the lens system on ball-bearings and using a gyroscope and motors to counteract any movement to prevent the problem of camera shake. Either the new Lumia Eos is at least a quarter away, or Nokia have implemented a different way to support the high-resolution image sensor.
